UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" Penn State finished the four-day long January NAC today.

After success in the men's saber in the first half of the NAC, Penn State was able to continue the success throughout the event. On Sunday, Jan. 7, Penn State participated in men's foil and women's saber.

Men's foil was the day's first event for the Nittany Lions. Sophomore Mohamed Hassan (Saint Louis, Mo.) led Penn State with his 19th place finish, but not too far behind him was freshman teammate Shane Iverson (Basking Ridge, N.J.), who finished in 32nd place.

Women's saber closed out Sunday for the Nittany Lions in an exciting way. Freshman Zara Moss (Cranberry Township, Pa.) claimed Penn State's only first place finish of the tournament.

Women's epee was the final event of the tournament on Monday, Jan. 8. Junior Anastasia Kalonji (Rennes, France) and sophomore Barbara VanBenthuysen (Spring, Texas) led the Nittany Lions in this event with their seventh and 33rd place finishes, respectively.

Penn State will next be in action January 14, when they return home to the White Building for a dual meet. Fans can keep up with Penn State Fencing at GoPSUsports.com. Follow the team on Facebook at Penn State Fencing and on Twitter @pennstateFEN.
