Scouting the Golden Gophers
// Minnesota is going score points, sitting No. 3 in the Big Ten and No. 9 nationally in points per game at 85.9 tallies per game. However, the Gophers will also let in their fair share of points, surrendering a league-worst 71.2 points per game, an average that is No. 293 in the NCAA.
// While the Gophers are giving up a good amount of the defensive end, it is not because of lost possessions. Minnesota is No. 2 in the B1G and No. 28 nationally in turnovers per game (12.9).
// Kanisha Bell has the Gophers offense moving at an efficient clip and is the only NCAA Division 1 student-athlete ranked in the top-20 nationally in points (20.9) and assists (6.5) per game.
// Three others are in double-figures per game this season for Minnesota, with Carlie Wagner ranking second on the team with 17.5 points per game in 17 starts
// Destiny Pitts is adding 13.1 points and a team-best 7.9 rebounds, while Gadiva Hubbard is chipping in 12.9 points and has handed out 63 assists.

Last Five Games
// Penn State is 1-4 over its last five games, including a 1-3 mark in Big Ten play, with its lone win a home victory over Indiana on Jan. 3.
// During this five-game stretch, the Lady Lions are minus-7.0 in scoring margin, minus-3.0 in rebound margin, and minus-0.6 in turnover margin.
// Penn State is making 17.4 free throws per game during that stretch, helping boost its NCAA top-10 and Big Ten leading total.
// The opposition is handing out 17.0 assists per game over the last five games, compared to 10.4 for PSU, which has helped the opposition shoot 40.8 percent from the floor to Penn State's 38.5 percent.
// The Lady Lions are forcing turnovers thanks to an aggressive style that has led to 7.4 steals over the last five games. Of the 15.4 turnovers forced per game by Penn State nearly half of those have come off the steal, leading to 68 points off of turnovers.

Last Meeting -- vs. Minnesota 70, Penn State 64 (March 2, 2017 -- Big Ten Tournament)
// With her first basket of the game, Teniya Page joined the exclusive 1,000-point club in just her sophomore season.
// The Chicago, Ill. native, became just the fourth Penn State sophomore to reach 1,000 points. She joined a club that includes Kelly Mazzante, Maggie Lucas and Susan Robinson -- all who reached 2,000 points for their careers.
// Page set a Penn State Big Ten Tournament record with 35 tallies. Her 35 points bested Mazzante's 34 points against Wisconsin on March 3, 2002
// Furthermore, the 35 points are tied for the third-most points ever scored in a Big Ten Tournament game in the history of the event and are also the most scored by a player in a losing effort in Big Ten Tournament history.
// Page moved up two spots on the career scoring charts, passing Helen Holloway (1,022, 1991-94) and Rashana Barnes (1,24, 1999-2002), and was seated at No. 36 with 1,033 career points.
// Furthermore, Page's 35 points marked her fifth career 30-point game, a total that ranks No. 4 all-time at Penn State. It was her fourth such effort in 2016-17, the most since Mazzante accounted for nine 30-point contests in 2002-03.
// Sierra Moore posted her first double-double of the season and fourth of her career with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
// Amari Carter handed out five assists to move into a tie for No. 6 on the freshman season assists charts with Alex Bentley. Carter now has 125 helpers, equaling Bentley's total from the 2009-10 campaign.
