GENEVA, Ohio
- Penn State wrapped up the 2018 Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday afternoon at the Spire Institute with the Nittany Lions posting a fourth-place finish on the men's side scoring 84-points, and the women's team scoring 70-points to finish sixth-place.

The first points of the day on the track for Penn State came in the men's mile final. Colin Abert raced his way to a fourth-place finish making up a lot of ground in the final 100-meters running 4:14.82. Abert was joined by Billy McDevitt who finished seventh in 4:15.72.

Dan Chisena added points in the men's 400-meters taking sixth in 47.01.

Quenee Dale scored twice on the day for the Nittany Lions. In the women's 60-meters Dale ran 7.57 for eighth-place before returning to take silver in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.29.

In the men's 60-meters school record holder Xavier Smith at 6.73 and Moffett at 6.77 took sixth and seventh-place, respectively, adding points to the team total.

It was a Penn State sweep in the men's and women's 800-meters as both Danae Rivers and Isaiah Harris defended their titles from last season. Rivers backed up her 2017 title by taking the 2018 title in 2:07.75 while Harris earned his third-straight Big Ten Indoor title in the men's 800-meters in 1:50.15. Harris remains undefeated in Big Ten 800-meter finals - three indoor titles, two outdoor titles.

The finals of the 600-meters saw two freshmen step up as Victoria Tachinski (1:31.10) and Gary Ross III (1:18.68) finish sixth and seventh, respectively, chipping in points for Penn State.

In the men's 200-meter final Terrance Laird continued his dominance in the event, erasing his freshly set school record of 20.70 by running a blazing 20.56 for second-place. Moffett (20.78) in third-place and Smith in seventh-place at 21.14 also added to the Nittany Lion total.

Jillian Hunsberger struck silver in the women's 5K with her runner-up finish in 16:19.45 while Timothy McGowan added a point finishing eighth in 14:16.04.

In the final event on the track, the Penn State men's 4x400-meter relay of Chisena, Smith, Kier Miner, and Harris ran a season's best time of 3:05.12 taking silver for eight-points.

Megan McCloskey finished with a best jump of 1.75m (5'-8.75") for sixth-place, while in the men's high jump Devin Bradham at 2.12m (6'-11.50") and Chisom Ifedi at 2.08m (6'-9.75") took fifth and eighth in the event.

Both teams scored in the triple jump as well. Kelsey Vieira's mark of 12.23m (40'-1.50") was good for eighth and was a personal best, and Bryce Williams' jump of 15.65m (51'-4.25") finished sixth on the men's side.

The men's weight throw saw a new Penn State record set as David Lucas launched a throw of 23.31m (76'-5.50") finishing second. Morgan Shigo also scored in the event with his mark of 22.06m (72'-4.50") for fourth-place. Shigo's mark is the No.2 throw in program history.

Penn State will await the announcement of student-athletes who have been selected to participate in the 2018 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in College Station, Texas Mar. 9-10 on the campus of Texas A&M University.
