UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.-- The Penn State women's tennis team will host the Iowa Hawkeyes on Wednesday, Mar. 14 at 6:00 p.m. in the Indoor Tennis Center. This match against Iowa, kicks-off the second part of the team's schedule, where they will play ten, Big Ten matches to close out the season.
Penn State (5-7, 0-1 B1G) is coming off a spring break trip, where they took on Princeton, Memphis and UCF. The Nittany Lions took on Memphis and UCF outdoors at the USTA National Campus. The team will be looking to secure its first conference win when they go up against Iowa.
Iowa (8-4, 0-0 B1G) is coming off of a 5-2 win over Iowa State. This match, will be the conference opener for Iowa. The Hawkeyes also have the No. 49 ranked doubles team, in Elise Van Heuvelen and Anastasia Reimchen.
"After being on the road it will be nice to be back home and back into Big Ten play versus Iowa on Wednesday," said head coach Chris Cagle. "Iowa is a much improved program and we know how tough the match will be. We look forward to the opportunity on Wednesday and hope to have a strong crowd out for the match."
Looking ahead, the team will have an off week before they continue Big Ten play and travel to play the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sunday, Mar. 25 at 10:00 a.m.
