UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The 17th-ranked Penn State women's lacrosse team will put its three-game winning-streak on the line against No. 16 Princeton on Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. in a rematch from the 2017 NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals.

HOW TO WATCH

The game will air live across the nation on the Big Ten Network and will be available for streaming on the BTN2Go app.

THE MATCHUP

  • This marks the 38th all-time meeting between the two schools with Princeton holding the 24-13 advantage, however, Penn State has won the last three meetings including both meetings during the 2017 season.
  • Since 2007 eight of the 12 games have been decided by three goals or less including last season's NCAA Tournament quarterfinal matchup, which Penn State won 14-12.
  • Sophomore Maria Auth used last season's final meeting in the NCAA quarterfinals to burst onto the scene with a four goal and five point outburst, which at the time were both career-high's.
  • Senior Katie O'Donnell leads the Nittany Lions with eight goals and one assist for nine points in four career games against the Tigers while junior Madison Carter has added seven goals and one assist for eight points in three games vs. Princeton.

SCOUTING PRINCETON

  • Princeton has had more than a week off as they are coming off a 13-7 setback against Loyola nine days ago. The Tigers are currently 3-2 on the season after finishing last season 15-4 capturing the IVY League regular season and tournament championships before bowing out to the Nittany Lions in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.
  • The Tigers are without leading scorer and Tewaaraton Candidate Olivia Hompe who led the team with 110 points on 75 goals and 35 assists in 2017. Hompe is now serving as a graduate assistant coach on the Princeton sideline.
  • Princeton is paced on offense by Kyla Sears with 18 goals and 23 points and Kathryn Hallett with 12 goals and 14 points as the only players with double-digit goals so far in 2018.
  • Between the pipes is also a new face for the Tigers as Mary Kate McDonough takes over for All American Ellie Degarmo who led the nation at points last season with her .554 save percentage and her 10.02 goals against average. McDonough has started each game this season posting an 11.38 goals against average and a .443 save percentage.
  • Princeton is averaging 12.80 goals per game this season while allowing 10.60.

HOW LOWE CAN YOU GO?

  • Freshman Lucy Lowe has started the last four games of the season for Penn State and has won the last three to run her season record to 4-3 on the season.
  • Last Saturday against Rutgers, the freshman secured a career-high 10 saves. Last week Lowe posted an 8.41 goals against average and a .607 save percentage during 78:26 of game action during a pair of wins against Drexel and Rutgers.
  • Lowe has lowered her goals against average for the season to 10.59 and raised her save percentage to .489.

SOPHOMORE SENSATION

  • Auth has registered 13 goals in her last three games including a career-high six during a 22-9 victory over Drexel last week. The sophomore has now scored at least one goal in 12 straight games dating back to last season with multiple goals in all but one of those contests.
  • Auth has now jumped into the team lead with 33 points to rank third in the Big Ten while her 27 goals are also good for third in the conference and second on the team.

CHANGE OF SCENERY

  • Just a few weeks into the 2018 season junior Kelly Daggett moved from attack to defense in order to help out a young defensive unit and she has thrived in her new role.
  • In two of her last three games, Daggett has tied her career-high with four groundballs and four caused turnovers securing 10 groundballs and 10 caused turnovers during her last three games. The junior currently leads the team with 19 groundballs and 20 caused turnovers on the year.
  • Daggett's 20 caused turnovers and 2.22 average per game both lead the Big Ten.
  • In 2017, Daggett finished tied for seventh on the team in goal scoring with 15 goals and only had four caused turnovers the entire season.

22 JUMP STREET

  • Penn State exploded for a season-high 22 goals during a Wednesday victory over Drexel marking the first time since a season opening 20-9 victory over Albany in 2017 (28 games) that the Nittany Lions have hit the 20-goal mark in a game.
  • The 20-goal game is also just the second such game in the last four seasons by Penn State and the most goals they've scored in a single game since pouring in 22 during a 22-2 victory over Bucknell on March 2, 2011 (144 games ago).

YOU CAN'T SCORE IF YOU PASS?

  • Penn State has racked up 146 goals this season to rank first in the Big Ten and second in the country only behind Boston College. The Nittany Lions are also averaging 16.22 goals per game to rank seventh in the nation and second in the Big Ten behind Maryland.
  • PSU is also assisting on 35.6 percent of its goals scored this season and have 52 assists as a team led by senior Shelby Wells who ranks second in the Big Ten with 14 assists this season. Sophomore Katie Schluederberg has added 11 assists to rank tied for fourth in the Big Ten.

MOVIN' ON UP

  • After a pair of goals on Saturday against Albany, junior Madison Carter passed Diane Whipple '90 for ninth on the Penn State all-time goals list with 149 for her career. She is now just eight goals outside the top-5.
  • Carter's 31 goals this season lead the Big Ten and rank top-5 in the nation. The junior has scored at least one goal in each game this season and 12-straight dating back to last season.

DIRTY THIRTY

  • Senior Katie O'Donnell has scored at least one goal in 31 straight games dating back to her sophomore year in 2016.
