UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The 17th-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions look to snap a three-game losing skid as they close out the regular season with a Saturday afternoon tilt against Michigan at 2 p.m.

HOW TO WATCH

The game will be aired lived on the Big Ten Network and available for streaming on BTN2Go.

SENIOR DAY

THIS WEEK'S MATCHUP

  • This marks just the fifth meeting in the all-time series as Michigan became a Division I program prior to the 2014 season.
  • Penn State has never lost to the Wolverines leading the all-time series 4-0 and outscoring Michigan 61-30.
  • Senior Katie O'Donnell leads all current Nittany Lions with ten goals against Michigan in three games including a five-goal outburst last season while junior Madison Carter has scored six goals in two career games against the Wolverines.

SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES

  • Michigan is currently 6-10 and coming off a 16-9 victory against East Carolina last Saturday. The Wolverines six victories ties their single-season record set two years ago in 2016.
  • Michigan is paced on offense by Adriana Pendino with 33 goals and 36 points while Bianca Brueckner has added 26 goals and Chandler Kirby has scored 21.
  • Between the pipes both Alli Kothari and Mira Shane have split time each starting eight games. Kothari has turned in the better goals against average at 9.93 and save percentage at .493 while Shane has an 11.26 and .418, respectively.
  • Michigan ranks last in the Big Ten averaging just 9.7 goals per contest while ranking in the middle of the pack in fourth allowing 10.68 goals per game.
  • The Wolverines are also last in the Big Ten averaging just 25.9 shots per game and 18.6 shots on goal per game.

WINNER BY K.O.

  • Senior Katie O'Donnell has scored four game-winning goals this season including two of the three game-winners in Big Ten games, to rank second in the Big Ten.
  • O'Donnell's 51 goals on the season lead the team and also rank second in the Big Ten and tied for 26th nationally.
  • O'Donnell has moved all the way up into a tie for sixth on the Penn State all-time scoring list with 216 points in 79 games.
  • O'Donnell's 193 career goals are also good for sixth among active players across the nation and she is just seven goals shy of becoming only the fourth player in program history to reach 200 career goals. The senior is also just 14 goals shy of her career-high of 65 set last season.
  • Last game at Stony Brook, O'Donnell was held off the scoresheet for just the fifth time in her career snapping a 38-game goal-streak.

SNAP, CRACKLE, POP

  • During their 13-8 setback against Maryland last week, the Nittany Lions saw four players lose their point/goal streaks.
  • Both Madison Carter and Maria Auth were held off the scoresheet for the first time all season snapping 17-game goal streaks they each had.
  • Freshman Rachel Rosen had her streak of three-straight games with multiple points snapped as she too was held off the scoresheet while classmate Quinn Nicolai saw her eight-game goal streak come to an end.

TOUGH STRETCH

  • Penn State is in the middle of one of its toughest stretches in recent memory having lost three games in-a-row for the first time under the guidance of head coach Missy Doherty and for the first time since losing four-straight in 2009.
  • During this skid the Nittany Lions have seen their offensive production drop to just 11.33 goals per game as opposed to 16.23 before the three losses. Penn State is now averaging just 15.31 goals per contest on the season, which despite the tough stretch is still good for second in the Big Ten and 14th in the nation.
  • Penn State's 13 goals scored against Stony Brook on Tuesday were the most in a single-game the Seawolves have allowed all season.

A TIP OF THE CAP

  • Senior Shelby Wells registered her first career hat-trick on Tuesday afternoon against Stony Brook and is having a career year with 12 goals and a team-best 17 assists for 29 points, all career-highs.
  • Wells ranks fourth on the team in scoring with her 29 points while her 17 assists ranks fifth in the Big Ten.
  • Classmate Maggie Gallagher also registered a hat-trick against the Seawolves on Tuesday, the second of her career, tying her career-high with three goals. Gallagher ranks seventh on the team with 21 points this season on 17 goals and four assists.
  • Both Gallagher and Wells have each registered at least one point in 12 of 16 games this season.
  • Sophomore Kristin Roberto also turned in a career-best performance against Stony Brook registering three points on two goals and one assist. Roberto is now the eighth member of the team to reach double-digit goals this season.

SHOOT TO SCORE

  • Penn State is second in the Big Ten for both shots per game, averaging 33.8 shots per game, and shot percentage with a percentage of .453, which is good for 20th in the nation.
  • PSU ranks third in the Big Ten with a .481 free-position percentage, but its 162 free-position attempts are third in the entire nation. The Lions have converted 78 of their 8-meter shots this season, good for second in the nation.
  • The Nittany Lions are also second in the Big Ten with 17 man-up goals this season.

BALL CONTROL

  • Penn State is second in the Big Ten causing 8.8 turnovers per game while also pacing the conference with just 12.7 turnovers per game themselves.
  • The Nittany Lions are also currently third in the conference averaging 14.75 draws per game while Carter ranks second in the Big Ten with 6.2 per game of her own and Kayla Brisolari is fifth in the Big Ten collecting 3.9 draw controls per game.
