CHICAGO - Rising redshirt junior defender Kaleigh Riehl (Fairfax Station, Va.) has joined the United States Under-23 Women's National Team for a week-long training camp at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California, May 11-18. Riehl is one of seven defenders on the 23-member roster.
The training camp marks Riehl's third appearance with the U.S. U-23 WNT in 2018 and her seventh overall appearance with the U.S. U-23 WNT. Earlier this year, Riehl joined the U.S. U-23 WNT for a training camp in January and she represented the Red, White, & Blue at the Thorns Spring Invitational in March.
During the 2017 Penn State women's soccer season, Riehl started all 24 contests on the Nittany Lion backline. Individually, Riehl led the team in minutes played (2,158) and she recorded her lone goal of the season in a 4-2 win at Arkansas on Aug. 25.
This past season, Riehl was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Second Team and she received All-Big Ten Second Team honors.
