UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State track & field team heads to Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, to close out the 2018 collegiate outdoor season, June 6-9. Twelve Nittany Lions make up the contingent representing the Blue & White over the course of the four-day meet.

MEET INFO
The upcoming four-day meet marks the final competition of Historic Hayward Field before the facility undergoes a massive renovation. The NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will head to Austin, Texas, for two seasons before returning to Eugene, Oregon, in 2021.

THE NITTANY LION 12
Twelve Nittany Lions will be represented in eight individual events and one relay. Michael Biddle (men's javelin throw), Isaiah Harris (men's 800-meter run), Will Henderson (men's 4x100-meter relay), Maddie Holmberg (heptathlon), David Lucas (men's discus throw), Megan McCloskey (women's high jump), Malik Moffett (men's 4x100-meter relay), Anton Porter (men's 4x100-meter relay), Danae Rivers (women's 1,500-meter run), Morgan Shigo (men's hammer throw), Steph Sievers (women's javelin throw), and Xavier Smith (men's 4x100-meter relay) make up the Penn State squad in Eugene, Oregon.

WELCOME BACK
Seven Nittany Lions are making the return trip to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon, and all but one Penn Stater has competed at Historic Hayward Field. During the 2016 outdoor track season, the Nittany Lions took part in the Pepsi Invite on April 9, 2016.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST YEAR'S NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
At last year's NCAA Championships, the meet was highlighted for the Nittany Lions with a runner-up finish in the men's 800-meter run by Isaiah Harris. Harris, clocked in at a time of 1:45.40, to take silver as a sophomore. On the women's side, then-fifth year senior Tori Gerlach ran to a third-place finish in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:46.76).

NITTANY LION TRIO GARNER ALL-REGION HONORS
Isaiah Harris, Maddie Holmberg, and Danae Rivers were honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with Mid-Atlantic honors.

For Penn State, Harris was named the men's track athlete of the year, Homberg garnered women's field athlete of the year honors, and Rivers was tabbed the women's track athlete of the year.

Throughout the 2018 outdoor season, Penn State track & field has set 29 school record book performances, which includes seven school records.

No. 23 IN THE NATION
The Penn State men's track & field program ranks No. 23 in the nation, according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

In the national rankings, Penn State is the number three Big Ten team as Illinois checks in at No. 19 and Nebraska is No. 20.

NEXT TIME OUT
With the collegiate season coming to a close this weekend, the Nittany Lions that are eligible for junior and senior USA Track & Field Championships will compete in Des Moines, Iowa, June 21-24.
