UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. –
Penn State senior guard Teniya Page was named to the 2019 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award 20-person Preseason Watch List by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Tuesday afternoon. The award recognizes the top shooting guard in collegiate women's basketball.

The Selection Committee for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award is composed of top women's college basketball personnel including media members, head coaches, sports information directors and Hall of Famers. By mid-February, the watch list of 20 players for the 2019 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award will be narrowed to just 10. In March, five finalists will be presented to Ms. Drysdale and the Hall of Fame's selection committee. Fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite finalist at www.hoophallawards.com. The winner of the 2019 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award will be revealed on an ESPN platform during the 2019 Women's Final Four in Tampa, Florida.

Page, one of just two Big Ten players to be named to the preseason watch list, enters her senior season as a three-time All-Big Ten pick, two-time All-ECAC selection, and a 2017 WBCA All-American honorable mention and All-Region honoree. The Ann Meyers Drysdale Preseason Watch List selection comes the day after she was named a consensus Preseason All-Big Ten pick.

The Chicago native has totaled 1,589 points throughout her first three years at Penn State for a career average of 17.9 points per game. She sits just 411 points away from hitting the 2,000-career point mark, a feat that only five other players in program history have accomplished.

Page has already etched her name into several of Penn State's record books. Her 17.9 points per game scoring average ranks No. 4 all-time. She is one of five Penn Staters with 1,500 career points and 300 career assists. Page owns seven career 30-plus point games to sit tied for No. 2 all-time at Penn State. She has averaged 35.4 minutes per game throughout her career, a mark that ranks second in the Lady Lion history books.

Page and the Lady Lions hit the hardwood Sunday, Oct. 28 in an exhibition game against Lock Haven at the Bryce Jordan Center. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. and the game is open to the public and free of charge. The 2018-19 season officially gets underway on Nov. 8 when the Lady Lions host Providence.
