Nittany Lions in the NFL – Week Four

A total of 34 Penn State football alumni are populating the rosters of 21 National Football League teams. The Nittany Lions are perennially a top-20 program in producing players in the NFL. Each week throughout the year, GoPSUsports.com provides updates on the exploits of these former Nittany Lion greats.
 
Cornerback Trevor Williams was one of the most impactful Nittany Lion alums in Week 4, helping the Los Angeles Chargers earn a two-point win over fellow Penn Staters Robbie Gould and Garry Gilliam and the 49ers. Williams intercepted a San Francisco pass at the 2-yard line and flipped the field, returning it 86 yards to setup a field goal. He also recorded a career-high eight tackles.
 
Offensively, Saquon Barkley totaled another 100 yards from scrimmage for the Giants and ranks eighth in the league in the category, while Allen Robinson found the end zone for the first time in a Bears uniform.

Barkley, the only NFL player to total 100 yards from scrimmage in each of the first three games, accomplished the feat for fourth consecutive week by rushing for 44 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, while also totaling 56 yards on six receptions. His 453 yards from scrimmage this season rank eighth in the NFL.
