Pegula Ice Arena Announces Guest Skaters for Annual Figure Skating Show

April 10, 2018 UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The annual figure skating show at Pegula Ice Arena this year will include two competitive skaters with international competition backgrounds, Brazilian National Champion figure skater Isadora Williams and American male figure skater Emmanuel Savary.

Isadora Williams is a Brazilian-American figure skater who has won five senior international medals, including bronze at the 2012 Golden Spin of Zagreb and gold at the 2017 Sofia Trophy. She is also a two-time Olympian for Brazil and made history as the first Brazilian female figure skater when she went to Sochi in 2014. Isadora is a student at Montclair University and trains in Little Falls, New Jersey.

Emmanuel Savary is an international competitor who has won the 2010 U.S. novice silver medal and was the 2009 U.S. intermediate champion. He skated in the 2018 U.S. National Championships and currently trains in Colorado.

The Pegula Ice Arena announced earlier the theme of this year's figure skating show, King of the Valley, will be an adaptation of The Lion King with some unique Penn State twists.

"We're really excited about the show this year featuring a story line everyone knows and loves! And we can't wait to see what Isadora and Emmanuel will bring to our show! We think this is something that will really help elevate our show and the community will really enjoy seeing these caliber of skaters involved with those from our local community." said Jess McCormick, the Figure Skating Coordinator at Pegula Ice Arena.

Tickets for the show are $5 and can be purchased in advance at the Pegula Ice Arena or at Gate A beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 14 with the show beginning at 6 p.m. All seats for the show are general admission.
