Nittany Lions Sit in Third Place After One Round at Kepler Intercollegiate

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Penn State men's golf team sits in third place after one round of the Kepler Intercollegiate was completed Friday. Play was halted mid-afternoon at the Ohio State University Golf Clubs at the start of the second round and suspended later in the day.
 
With rainy weather expected Friday night and Saturday, tournament officials have shortened the event to two rounds and any second-round holes played Friday afternoon have been cancelled. The event's second round restarts at 9 a.m. Saturday morning with a shotgun start after the course is reset and rolled.
 
Michigan State leads the 15-team field with a 10-over 294 and host Ohio State is one stroke back at 295. The Nittany Lions tallied a 17-over 301 on the Scarlet Course.
 
Senior JD Hughes came into the clubhouse with a 3-over 74 to tie for ninth place. Junior Ryan Davis is in a tie for 14th place, carding a 4-over 75.
 
Senior Charles Huntzinger and junior Alec Bard share the No. 22 spot at 5-over 76. Bard posted Penn State's best score on the back nine with a 1-over 37. Senior Ryan Dornes is tied for 32nd with a 6-over 77.
