Nittany Lions in the NFL – Week 3

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - A total of 33 Penn State football alumni are populating the rosters of 21 National Football League teams. The Nittany Lions are perennially a top-20 program in producing players in the NFL. Each week throughout the year, GoPSUsports.com provides updates on the exploits of these former Nittany Lion greats.

The Buccaneers-Giants game featured five Nittany Lions, with Saquon Barkley and Grant Haley's Giants prevailing over the Tampa Bay trio of Carl Nassib, Chris Godwin and Donovan Smith. Nassib brought down Barkley twice, while two of Haley's three tackles involved Godwin. However, the game was marred by a reported ankle injury to Barkley that forced him to leave in the second quarter and could sideline him in upcoming weeks.

Adrian Amos led former Penn Staters on defense for the week with seven tackles in a win over the Broncos, while Miles Sanders led with 180 all-purpose yards.

Additionally, free agent linebacker Nate Stupar re-signed with the Giants on Tuesday.
