KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Penn State men's soccer team is ranked No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches week eight poll, as announced by the association Tuesday.

It is the first ranking for the Nittany Lions since week four of the 2015 season when they checked in at No. 21 (9/22/15).

Penn State checked in at No. 14 in the second NCAA RPI ranking of the 2019 season on Monday, the highest-ranking team in the conference.

Two other Big Ten teams in Indiana (No. 10) and Maryland (No. 22) are also ranked, while nonconference opponents Stanford (No. 5) and UCF (No. 8) round out the top 10.

Penn State is 8-2-2 overall and 4-1-1 in Big Ten play with two weeks remaining in the regular season. It marks the best record for the Nittany Lions since 2014, also the last time they made the NCAA Tournament.
