Penn State Fencing to Compete in Dual Series at Sacred Heart

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State's men's and women's fencing teams are set to compete in their second dual meet series of the season this weekend. The team will travel to Fairfield, Conn. this Sunday December 8th where they will go to bout against NYU, Brown University, Vassar, and Sacred Heart. The men's team will also fence against NJIT.
 
Fencing for the men's team this weekend will be:
 
Foil - Sebastiano Bicego (Vicenza, Italy), Andrew Grass (Burke, Va.) Shane Iverson (Basking Ridge, N.J.), Maximillian Lewicki (Hillsborogh, N.J.), Andrey Ostatnigrosh (Fresno, Calif.), Nicolas Prince (New York, N.Y.), and Felipe Rosario (Maplewood, N.J.).
 
 
Epee -  Tylen Butler (Charlotte, N.C.), Elias Cole (Chappaqua, N.Y.), Alex Konert (Bristol, R.I.) Demetri Zacharakis (Houston, Texas)
 
Saber - Inti Farfan-Bayerl (Morrison, Colo.), Maksymilian Mateja (Arlington Heights, Ill.), Chase Pflueger (Highlands Ranch, Colo.), and Michal Wisniowski (Clark, N.J.).
 
Fencing for the women's team this weekend will be:
 
Foil - Lodovica Bicego (Vicenza, Italy), Ximena Iriarte-Estrada (Huixquilucan, Mexico), Sofia McGoff-Medero (Gurabo, Puerto Rico), Jade Rowland (Princeton Junction, N.J.), and Isabella Zuzulo (Newtown, Pa.).
 
Epee – Julia Duffy (Stony Brook, N.Y.) Nirali Igoe (Washington, D.C.), Medora McCarthy (Los Altos Hills, Calif.), Evelyn Pham (Houston, Texas), Barbara VanBenthuysen (Spring, Texas), and Axelle Wasiak (Vlaams-Brabant, Belgium).
 
Saber - Carlee Beaty (State College, Pa.), Sara Cunningham (Decatur, Ga.), Pauline Conscience (Paris, France), Zara Moss (Cranberry Twp., Pa.), and Kelli Wozniak (Westerville, Ohio).
 
Additionally, Ryan Griffiths (Fair Lawn, N.J.), Jonathan Piskovatskov (Houston, Texas), and Devin Tafoya (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) will be traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah for a Division I and II Olympic Trials event starting Friday, Dec. 6th and ending on Sunday, Dec. 8th.

Following this weekend's action, fencers will be off for finals and winter break. After the new year select fencers will travel to Charlotte, N.C. for the January NAC starting on Friday, Jan. 3rd and will run till Monday, Jan. 6th.
