UNIVERISTY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's volleyball sophomore Brett Wildman had another dominant offensive weekend for the Nittany Lions and he was awarded his second EIVA Offensive Player of the Week award for his efforts as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Wildman was also named the Off the Block National Outside Attacker of the Week for his weekend performance.
The Virginia Beach native had back-to-back 17-kill matches in the Nittany Lions' first EIVA weekend of the season. His efforts led Penn State to a 3-1 over Princeton and a 3-0 victory over NJIT Saturday.
Wildman's kill total was a game-high for both matches and he was also extremely efficient in his attacks, finishing the weekend with a .490 hitting percentage (34-7-55). His .560 hitting percentage (17-3-25) Saturday against NJIT was a single-game best for the sophomore.
Wildman also tacked on three service aces with several additional serves that put opposing setters and attackers out of rhythm. Defensively, he had six digs, two blocks, and was a perfect 22-22 on serve receive for the weekend.
