Women's Hockey To Face Lindenwood in Road Conference Series

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women's hockey team travels to Lindenwood to take on the Lions in their final regular-season meeting in the 2019-20 season this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21-22.
 
This matchup will be Penn State's first action at Lindenwood's new home facility, the Centene Community Ice Center, which is a shared facility with the 2019 Stanley Cup Champion, St. Louis Blues.

IMPORTANT NUMBERS
2 - Two Nittany Lions scored their first career goals last weekend at RIT. Junior Morgan Rolph netted her first in Friday's game on a slapshot and sophomore Amy Dobson scored on a redirect Saturday.
 



8 - The Nittany Lions hold an eight-game unbeaten streak against Lindenwood dating back to the 2017-18 season with a 7-0-1 record.
 
11 - The Nittany Lions are unbeaten in their 11 games when leading after two periods of play this season (8-0-3). They also hold a 7-1-2 record when leading after the first period.
 

SERIES HISTORY VS. THE LIONS
This weekend's series will mark the 33rd and 34th meetings all-time between Penn State and Lindenwood. PSU leads the series at 18-11-4.
 
The Nittany Lions are unbeaten in their last seven matchups with Lindenwood dating back to the 2017-18 season with an overall record of 7-0-1 in that stretch.
 
Penn State swept the first series of the season at Pegula Ice Arena Jan. 10-11 in  a pair of close, one-goal games. 
 
The Nittany Lions scored the first two goals of the game, both by defenders in Izzy Heminger and Rene Gangarosa, to take a 2-0 lead into the third period. Lindenwood pulled within one 5:29 into the third, but the Nittany Lions held on to win. 
 
In game two, Penn State followed a similar game story by opening the game with the first three goals scored by Shea Nelson, Natalie Heising, and Kate Rydland. Lindenwood managed to pull back within one with goals in the second and third periods, but Penn State made the winning plays down the stretch to secure the win.

 
NEXT UP
Penn State returns home for its final home series of the season when it hosts Mercyhurst at Pegula Ice Arena Feb. 28-29. Saturday's game will be senior day and will feature the final postgame skate of the season.
