Stevens Named to USBWA All-District Team

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State senior forward Lamar Stevens has been named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association All-District team as announced by the organization on Tuesday, March 10. The two-time first-team All-Big Ten Conference selection picked up his second All-District honor in 2020.

From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Stevens is the second Nittany Lion to earn honors in two seasons since the USBWA began its All-District award program.

Stevens has helped lead Penn State to 21 wins in 2019-20 and is part of the winningest senior class in its Big Ten era with 76 overall victories. He is currently second on Penn State all-time scoring list with 2,207 points and owns the records for most field goals with 801 and most career starts with 135. He is one of only two Nittany Lions to score 500 or more points in three seasons.

The USBWA All-America team will be announced on Monday, March 16.

Penn State tied for fifth in Big Ten Conference play and earned a first-round bye for the third-straight year. The Nittany Lions, seeded No. 6, will take on the winner of No. 11 Indiana/No. 14 Nebraska in a 9 p.m. (approx.) ET game Thursday, March 12.
