Throughout the crisis, we’ve continued our ongoing support of local communities throughout Pennsylvania. In late April, for example, we donated $25,000 to support the state’s food banks as they face increased demand due to COVID-19.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Penn State Health found itself on the frontlines of helping our communities be safe and get the care they need. We rapidly organized drive-through testing and managed resources to create COVID care protocols and units to brace for a potential public health emergency. Thanks to the efforts of everyone, from our front lines to your front yards, we flattened the curve and together worked through this unprecedented challenge. To honor everyone who has done their part, Penn State Health encourages you to share your shoutout for your heroes on the #heroeslooklikeTHIS page at thisispennstatehealth.org/heroes
The global pandemic has impacted an estimated 8 million jobs in the restaurant industry, so PepsiCo, in collaboration with other foundations and companies, created the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund. PepsiCo contributed $1 million in immediate relief as well as committing to raise and additional $3 million for the RERF. PepsiCo’s philanthropic arm, the PepsiCo Foundation, also pledged $1 million to No Kid Hungry, in order to supply nutritious meals to families in need during the crisis. The company spread the word on this issue using #GiveMealsGiveHope on social media. To learn more about PepsiCo’s response to COVID-19, including support to local frontline heroes, click here.
