Women's Hockey Readies Up For CHA Series Vs. Lindenwood

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Nittany Lions begin a stretch of 14 College Hockey Amer­ica games to conclude the 2019-20 regular season beginning with a two-game home set against Lindenwood Friday and Saturday Jan. 10-11.
 
Winners of four of their last six games, the Nittany Lions are coming off a 1-1 series against New Hampshire a week to begin the new calendar year.

PARKING NOTICE
Fans are encouraged to parks in the Shields lot Friday evening with additional parking available in Stadium West. For Saturday's game, Stadium West will be the primary parking lot.
 
With men's basketball scheduled to play in the BJC Saturday afternoon, parking in Stadium West will still be free for those attending women's hockey. Notify the parking attendants of your intent to attend women's hockey to receive free parking.
 
SKATE FOR THE CURE
Saturday's contest marks Penn State's annual Skate for the Cure game to raise awareness for the battle against Breast Cancer in association with the PA Pink Zone.
 
Fans who wear pink on Saturday will receive free admission to the game. Additional promotions include a post-game skate with the team, a caricature artist, a photo booth, hockey mini games, and crafts all included with admission.
 


 
 
SERIES HISTORY VS. THE LIONS
This weekend's series will mark the 32nd and 33rd all-time meetings between PSU and Lindenwood dating back to Penn State's first varisty season in 2012-13.
 
The Nittany Lions are unbeaten in their last six matchups with the Lions daring back to Feb. 24, 2018. Penn State went 3-0-1 in 2018-19, with a 3-3 tie in the most recent matchup on March 2 being the only non-win for Penn State.
 
Penn State is 8-6-2 at home against Lindenwood in the all-time series, including winning three straight at Pegula Ice Arena.
 
SINGLE-SEASON RECORD HOLDER
Goaltender Chantal Burke set a new single-season program record with her fifth shutout of the season last Friday, Jan. 3, against New Hampshire. Her 29-save shutout put her in sole possession on the single-season high and second on the career shutout list.
 


 
CHA MONTHLY AWARD WINNERS
Juniors Natalie Heising and Chantal Burke were both recipients of monthly College Hockey America (CHA) conference awards for December as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
 
Heising paced the Nittany Lions' offense with three goals for Penn State's lone two-game set of the month Dec. 6-7, including notching her program-high 15th career power-play goal. 
 
Burke picked up two wins in goal, including her fourth shutout of the season in Dec. 6's win, on her way to her second Goaltender of the Week honor.
