Last Time @ B1G Championships
At the 2019 Big Ten Cross Country championships, both Penn State cross country teams turned in top-five finishes. The women's team placed fourth and the men's team placed fifth in Columbus, Ohio. This marked the first time since 2010 that both teams placed in the top five at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships.
Katie Munks led the Nittany Lions' women's program as she ran to second team All-Big Ten honors with an 11th place finish. The Nittany Lions finished fourth at the 2019 championships with a team score of 138 points. The Penn State women's program has finished in the top five each of the last five seasons and brought home the Big Ten championship in 2015.
2019 XC Season in Review
The Nittany Lions women's cross country team won three meets in 2019 including their fourth Mid-Atlantic Regional championship in the last five years. The Penn State women's program has four student-athletes earn All-Region honors.
Head coach John Gondak earned the fourth Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year award of his career. It was the fourth time in the last five years Gondak has won the award. Gondak and associate head coach Angela Reckart have led Penn State to four Mid-Atlantic Regional crowns and a Big Ten Championship in 2015.
On the men's side, the program won three team meets and Alex Tomasko earned All-Region honors at the Mid-Atlantic Regional championships.
