Ken Hickman to be Honored by the Centre County Historical Society

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Ken Hickman, director of the Penn State All-Sports Museum, will be honored with the History and Heritage award at the 32nd annual John H. Ziegler Historic Preservation Awards of the Centre County Historical Society. This year's ceremony will be held virtually via Zoom on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The museum memorializes the student-athletes and coaches throughout history who have contributed to Penn State's recognition as one of the best intercollegiate athletic programs in the nation. Located in the southwest corner of Beaver Stadium, the museum highlights the success of all of Penn State's varsity men's and women's teams.

Since joining the museum in 2006, Hickman has seen many Penn State legends recognized for their accomplishments. This time it is Hickman who will be receiving the praise for his outstanding work preserving Penn State history.

Hickman, a 1998 graduate of Penn State with majors in history and political science, has had publications detailing Penn State's connections to World War I. Hickman has also been featured in two segments on the History Channel.
In 2019, Hickman was awarded by the Institutional Achievement Award for Field to Front: Nittany Lions at War: 1917-19 exhibit.
