UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The #10 Penn State women's soccer team hits the road for a matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, March 13. The Nittany Lions and Buckeyes are scheduled to play at 3 p.m. ET.
In the last matchup against Ohio State, Penn State won 3-2 in Columbus. Ally Schlegel, Maddie Myers and Jordan Canniff all scored goals in the win and Amanda Dennis made six saves in net for the Nittany Lions. The win against Ohio State was the first of an 11-game winning streak for the Nittany Lions that included a Big Ten Tournament title and a run to the NCAA Sweet 16.

Nittany Lions Last Time Out
The Penn State women's soccer team picked up its fourth-straight win on Sunday afternoon with a 3-1 win over the Michigan State Spartans. The Nittany Lions (4-1-0, 4-1-0) scored a pair of goals in the first half and added an insurance goal in the second half to top the Spartans (1-3-1).
Ally Schlegel and Frankie Tagliaferri both scored their third goals of the season, netting goals in the first 45 minutes of action. Freshman Elle Kershner scored the first goal of her Nittany Lion career in the second half to put the game out of reach of the Spartans.
Penn State's defense limited the Spartans to just three shots in the game and only one in the second half of action.
With Schlegel's goal and Coffey's assist, they are both tied for the team lead with nine points, three goals and three assists. Frankie Tagliaferri has now scored in three straight games. Rachel Wasserman's two assists on Sunday were the first assists of her career.

Senior captain Sam Coffey ranks as the NCAA Division I active leader in points and assists. Coffey currently has 99 points and 37 assists in her career.

Redshirt sophomore Ally Schlegel has picked up right where she left off during the fall of 2019. Schlegel tied for the Big Ten lead with 13 goals last season and led the conference with 33 points.
Schlegel currently tied for the team lead in points (9), goals (3) and assists (3).
Schlegel is the third member of her immediate family to play Division I sports. Her father Mike and her brother Drew both played football at Kentucky. Drew played as a graduate transfer at Cal during the season last fall.

Head coach Erica Dambach is among the elite in women's soccer coaching history. She currently ranks 17th all-time in winning percentage (.708) and 49th all-time in wins (263). Dambach has captured 10 Big Ten regular season titles, 4 Big Ten tournament titles and the 2015 national title and an Olympic gold medal.

Sears scored the first four goals for the Buckeyes this season.
