- The Penn State pitching staff continues to rack up the strikeouts during the first three weekends of the 2021 season. The Nittany Lions pitchers have accumulated 103 strikeouts in 89.1 innings this season. Five Penn State pitchers have 10 or more strikeouts so far this season.
- Bailey Dees takes the mound for the first game of the series and has 17 Ks in his first two starts. Dees had five strikeouts in his last start against Maryland.
- Conor Larkin will start for the Nittany Lions on Saturday and leads Penn State with 23 strikeouts. Larkin tied a career-best in his outing against Maryland, tossing 6.2 IP.
- Kyle Virbitsky will start in the second game on Saturdayfollowing a solid outing in the series finale against Maryland. Virbitsky tied a career-best with seven strikeouts.

- Josh Spiegel continues to lead the Nittany Lions in batting average, slugging percentage, hits, home runs and total bases.
- Cole Bartels and Justin Williams are both currently on four-game hitting streaks. Bartels moved into the lead off spot in the Nittany Lions order in the last two games of the Maryland series.
