MADISON, Wis.— The Penn State women's tennis team is set to take on the No. 11 seed Minnesota (5-12, 4-12 B1G) on Thursday at 12 p.m. in the Big Ten Tournament hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The Nittany Lions (10-7, 9-7 B1G) come into the tournament as the No. 6 seed, the highest for the program since the 2015 season.

LAST TIME OUT
The Nittany Lions ended the regular season with a 6-1 loss to #16 Ohio State in Columbus.
Penn State was outmatched in doubles as the Buckeyes claimed the point with wins at No. 1 and 2. Ohio State went on to win the next five singles matches and Sofyia Chekhlystova (Talinn, Estonia) earned a 7-5, 4-4 win by retirement over Isabelle Boulais to make the final score 6-1.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GOPHERS
Minnesota sits at 5-12 on the season following its win over 14-seed Wisconsin. This is the second matchup between the two schools this year as Penn State took the regular season win with a 4-3 performance on April 11.
The Gophers lineup features a ranked singles player in #112 Rachel Hanford. In the regular season, Gabby O'Gorman (Gunnedah, N.S. Wales, Australia) pulled off the impressive 6(4)-7,6-4, 6-4 upset of then #79 Hanford to clinch the Nittany Lion victory. The Gophers are looking to build momentum having just picked up back-to-back victories for only the second time all season.
