The epitome of a student-athlete, Reedy, a redshirt senior from Kutztown, Pa., is a two-time graduate of Penn State. The midfielder finished his undergraduate degree in security and risk analysis in May 2020 and most recently completed a masters in corporate finance in May 2021, holding impressive GPAs of 3.64 and 3.66, respectively.
This CoSIDA Academic All-America® nod marks the second national academic award Reedy has received this school year after being named a first team Scholar All-American by United Soccer Coaches in May. He also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District® Team honors and United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region Team accolades, and was named a 2020-21 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten.
On the pitch in the 2020-21 season, Reedy put together the best performance of his career, scoring a career-high five goals and adding four assists for a career-best 14 total points. For this, the team co-captain earned first team All-Big Ten accolades and first team All-North Region honors from United Soccer Coaches, culminating in a third team All-America status.
Reedy is the program's first CoSIDA Academic All-American® since Jason Yeisley in 2009 and the sixth overall.
Penn State ranks No. 4 among all Division I institutions with 211 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans® all-time, including 2020-21 women's soccer members Kerry Abello, Sam Coffey and Frankie Tagliaferri.
The Academic All-America program, which requires nominees to possess a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.3, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Nominees are voted on by members of CoSIDA to determine the All-American of the Year and first, second and third teams, comprised of 11 individuals each.
