UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - A total of 41 Penn State football alumni are populating the rosters of 23 National Football League teams heading into week one of the NFL season.
The Nittany Lions annually are among the top 20 programs nationally in producing players in the NFL. In addition, seven former Nittany Lions are members of NFL coaching staffs and two former PSU student-athletes from sports other than football are on rosters.
Six players from PSU's 2020 squad are on NFL teams.
Seventeen-year veteran and San Francisco All-Pro placekicker Robbie Gould is Penn State's elder statesman in the NFL. Former Penn State men's lacrosse player Chris Hogan signed with the New Orleans for his ninth season in the NFL. Additionally, former men's basketball player Ross Travis joined the Arizona Cardinals ahead of his sixth season.
