Women's Volleyball Set for 6 p.m. Match at Indiana

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – No. 14 Penn State women's volleyball looks to stay unbeaten in the Big Ten when it travels to play Indiana on Saturday at 6 p.m. The Lions enter with a record of 10-3 overall and 3-0 in the Big Ten after posting conference wins over Rutgers, Ohio State, and Maryland. Indiana comes in at 7-8 overall and 1-2 in the Big Ten.

Penn State enters with a five-match winning streak. Four of those matches were either on the road or at a neutral site. The Lions will play a team led by a former Penn State staffer for the second-straight match. After playing Maryland, led by former Penn State director of operations Adam Hughes, on Wednesday, they will play Indiana, which is led by former Penn State assistant coach Steve Aird.

SERIES HISTORY - INDIANA
• Penn State is 57-1 all-time against Indiana in a series that began in 1982.

• Kaley Rammelsburg ranks sixth in the Big Ten in hitting percentage at .406. Paula Cerame ranks fifth in digs/set at 4.27.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN
• It's been a challenging start to the season for Penn State as far as travel. After Saturday's match, Penn State will have played matches in seven different cities, including State College, through the first six weeks of the 2021 season.

LAST TIME OUT
• Penn State totaled 17 blocks in a reverse sweep win over Maryland by scores of 19-25, 25-27, 25-22, 25-18, 15-9). Kaitlyn Hord, who led all players with nine blocks, ended the match with a solo block.
• Three Lions had double-doubles. Gabby Blossom finished with 55 assists, 19 digs and six blocks. Jonni Parker had 19 kills, 13 digs and seven blocks. Adanna Rollins tallied 10 kills and 14 digs.
• Allie Holland and Anastasiya Kudryashova had huge matches for Penn State. Holland had a career-high 15 kills on .538 hitting and added a career-high eight blocks. Kudryashova hit .317 with a career-high 17 kills.

FORMER PENN STATE ASSISTANT LEADS INDIANA
• Indiana head coach Steve Aird was an assistant coach at Penn State in 2007 and 2012-13. He was on the staff for Penn State's national titles in both 2007 and 2013. The Lions played in the national semifinal in 2012.

PENN STATE LEADS NATION IN BLOCKS
• According to the NCAA stats site, through matches on Sept. 29, Penn State leads the nation in blocks/set, averaging 3.33.
• Kaitlyn Hord ranks third in the nation in blocks/set, averaging 1.77. Allie Holland ranks 41st, averaging 1.30/set.
• Hord has seven matches with at least seven blocks this season, including 10 in a 3-0 win over St. John's.
