Penn State Fencing Travels to Sacred Heart for First Dual Series of the Season

University Park, Pa. - The Penn State men's and women's fencing teams will travel to Fairfield, Conn. Sunday, Dec. 5 to compete at Sacred Heart University for the first dual series of the season. The Nittany Lions will compete against other collegiate athletes from New York University, Harvard University, Princeton University, Vassar College, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.


Fencing for the men this weekend will be: 

Epee - Elias Cole (Chappaqua, N.Y.), Ryan Griffiths (Fair Lawn, N.J.), Peter Kambeseles (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Jonathan Piskovatskov (Houston, Texas), Daniel Shifron (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Devin Tafoya (Highlands Ranch, Colo.), and Evan Xu (Sugarland, Texas),  

Foil - Sebastiano Bicego (Vicenza, Italy), Shane Iverson (Basking Ridge, N.J.), Aidan Johnson (Oceanport, N.J.), Donavyn Martinez (Fresno, Calif.), and Konner Paik (Norwood, N.J.) 

Saber - Jeffrey Basalyga (Saddle River, N.J.), Ethan Mullenix (San Francisco, Calif.), Clement Perrier (Allauch, France), Kamar Skeete (Duluth, Ga.), and Nick Zielinski (Prospect Heights, Ill.) 


Fencing for the women this weekend will be: 

Epee - Kateryna Chorniy (Kyiv, Ukraine), Sabine Desamours (Warrenton, Va.), Nirali Igoe (Washington, D.C.), Jaclyn Khrol (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Jordan Liverant (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and Axelle Wasiak (Vlaams-Brabrant, Belgium) 

Foil - Samantha Catantan (Quezon City, Philippines), Ximena Iriarte-Estrada (Huixquilucan, Mexico), Sofia McGoff-Medero (Gurabo, Puerto Rico), Ari Proietti (Como, Italy), and Ariel Rastep (San Francisco, Calif.), Mikaela Yhip (Chico, Calif.) 

Saber - Pauline Conscience (Paris, France) and Steph Jen (Taichung, Taiwan) 

Following this weekend, select fencers will head to Columbus, Ohio for Olympic trials at the Division 1 and Junior-Cadet levels.
