UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State senior safety Jaquan Brisker, senior wide receiver Jahan Dotson and redshirt senior punter Jordan Stout have earned All-America honors from the Associated Press, it was announced on Monday.
Brisker earned second-team honors while Dotson and Stout are third-team honorees.
S Jaquan Brisker
- Brisker also has earned All-America honors from CBS/247 Sports (first team), On3 (first team), Pro Football Focus (first team), The Athletic (second team), The FWAA (second team) and USA Today (second team).
- Brisker was a first-team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches and media.
- Brisker was tabbed a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe and Bednarik Awards.
- The captain, who has accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl, has at least a half tackle for loss in eight of 12 games this season.
- Brisker's 5.5 tackles for loss this season are tied for second among Big Ten defensive backs.
- Since 2000, Brisker is just one of three Penn State defensive backs to record at least 5.5 tackles for loss in a season.
- Against Wisconsin, two Lackawanna College alums played a big role. Brisker and senior S Ji'Ayir Brown each recorded interceptions in the closing minutes to seal the victory.
- Brisker's interception stopped a Wisconsin drive inside the Penn State 10. He returned the interception 41 yards.
- He added a tackle for loss and a pass breakup against the Badgers.
- Brisker recorded an interception in the first quarter against Iowa while making a career-high-tying nine tackles (7 solo).
- The senior recorded a takeaway in his second-straight game, recovering a fumble against Illinois while making eight tackles (7 solo).
- In the win at Maryland, he contributed seven tackles (6 solo) and a tackle for loss.
- Brisker had five tackles and a tackle for loss vs. Michigan and a team-high seven tackles and a pass breakup against Rutgers.
- A native of Pittsburgh, Brisker made eight tackles at Michigan State, marking his third game this season making eight or more tackles.
WR Jahan Dotson
- Dotson is the only wide receiver who was a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award.
- Dotson is the only Power Five receiver and one of two FBS receivers with at least 90 receptions, 1,180 yards and 12 touchdowns in their first 12 games of the season, joining Western Kentucky's Jerreth Sterns (127, He is the first Big Ten player since Braylon Edwards (Michigan, 2004) to have at least 90 receptions, 1,180 yards and 12 touchdowns in their first 12 games of the season.
- Dotson ranks second in the Big Ten in 2021 in receptions (91, 7th nationally), is tied for second in receiving scores (12, T-5th), and is third in receiving yards (1,182, 13th).
- The 91 grabs are currently the second-most in a season at Penn State, trailing Allen Robinson (97, 2013) by six, while his 1,182 yards and 101touchdown receptions are second.
- He is second all-time at Penn State in career receptions (183), tied for second in career receiving touchdowns (25) and is fourth yardage (2,757).
- His 11 career 100-yard receiving games is second all-time at Penn State.
- A native of Nazareth, Pa., Dotson had five or more receptions in 12-straight games, dating back to the Michigan State game in 2020 and is the only Nittany Lion in program history to catch at least five passes in 12 consecutive games.
- The wideout has a reception in 41-straight games, dating back to October 20, 2018 against Indiana, which ranks fifth among current FBS players.
- Dotson has at least one 20-yard reception in 28 career games, including each of the first five games and 10 of 12 games overall this year.
- According to PFF, since 2020, Dotson leads all FBS receivers in 20+ yard touchdowns with 12.
- He had a touchdown reception in each of the first five games this season and since 2000, is the only Penn State receiver with at least six touchdown receptions in the first five games of the season. He's done so in both 2020 and 2021.
- Dotson had a touchdown reception in six-straight games dating back to the Illinois game in 2020, the longest streak in program history. He reached the end zone in seven consecutive games, including an 81-yard punt return against Michigan State in 2020.
- The senior owns six career receiving touchdowns of 60 or more yards (86 at Maryland, 2021; 75 and 70 vs. Illinois 2020; 68 vs. Iowa 2020; 60 at Indiana 2020; 72 vs. Purdue, 2019) and 10 receiving touchdown of 40+ yards.
- Dotson's 15.12 yards per reception in his career are third among current Power Five receivers (minimum 170 catches) and sixth among FBS receivers.
- Only Purdue's David Bell (17) has more career 100-yard receiving games than Dotson's 11.
- Dotson recorded a career-high and program-record 242 receiving yards at Maryland, bettering Deon Butler's 216 yards vs. Northwestern in 2006.
- He is the only Power Five receiver and one of three FBS receivers with 240 yards and three touchdowns in a game this season, joining Northern Illinois' Trayvon Rudolph (14, 309, 3 vs. Kent State) and Old Dominion's Ali Jennings (9, 252, 3).
- The wideout tied career highs with 11 receptions and three touchdowns against the Terrapins, his fifth career multi-touchdown game.
- It marked his fourth career game with at least 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns and second career game with at least 100 yards and three touchdowns.
- Dotson set a career-high with 11 receptions at Ohio State to go along with 127 yards, while also adding a 2-yard rushing touchdown against the Buckeyes.
- He had 10 receptions against Auburn, becoming the first Penn State player with double-digit receptions in a game since Saquon Barkley's 12 against Iowa in 2017 and the first receiver with double-digit receptions since DaeSean Hamilton's 14 against Ohio State in 2014.
- Dotson caught a 4-yard touchdown against the Tigers and completed a 22-yard pass to redshirt freshman TE Tyler Warren in the second quarter.
- It was Dotson's first career pass attempt and completion. He followed it up two weeks later with another completion, connecting on a 21-yard pass to Parker Washington against Indiana.
- Dotson had five receptions for 102 yards, and a 49-yard touchdown, in the season-opening win at Wisconsin.
- The senior turned a screen pass into a 25-yard touchdown against Ball State and caught eight passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns against Indiana.
- Dotson made seven grabs for 117 yards and a touchdown against Villanova, including a 52-yard touchdown reception on Penn State's first offensive play.
P Jordan Stout
- Stout was a Ray Guy Award finalist and has been named the Ray Guy Award National Punter of the Week twice this season and Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week four times.
- He is the second specialist in Big Ten history to earn Special Teams Player of the Week in a season four times. Purdue's Travis Dorsch (4) in 2001 was the other. Dorsch went on to win the Ray Guy Award in 2001.
- He leads the country in PFF punting grade (93.1) and average hang time (4.36) and is second in net punting (45.08).
- He owns Penn State's best career punt average (44.81), leading by 1.68 yards per punt, while also holding Penn State's highest season punt average (46.55)
- Stout, who has 28 career punts of 50+ yards, has averaged at least 50.0 yards per punt in five games this season and 25 of his 62 punts this season have been 50 or more yards.
- Stout has landed 34 punts inside the 20, including a career-high six against Illinois and Rutgers, 18 inside the 10 and six inside the 5.
- At Michigan State, all three of Stout's punts landed inside the 7-yard line (2 landed at the 7, 1 landed at the 1). The average drive start on Stout's punts was MSU's own 5-yard line.
- Stout knocked five punts inside the 10 against Rutgers and six of his eight punts inside the 20. He hit two punts of 50+ yards as he earned Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week.
- With Stout handling kickoff and punting duties, Rutgers average drive start for the entire game was its own 18-yard line. The Scarlet Knights best drive start was their own 33.
- Stout landed all four punts against Michigan inside the 20 and hit two 50+ yard punts to earn Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week.
- Stout also completed an 18-yard pass to Curtis Jacobs on a fake punt and converted three field goals against the Wolverines, including a 52-yard kick in the second quarter, to tie his career high for field goals made in a game.
- At Ohio State, Stout hit a pair of 55-yard punts, landing one inside the 20, while also hitting a 47-yard field goal against the Buckeyes to close out the first half.
- He was named the Ray Guy Award National Punter of the Week after his performance against Illinois, where he hit four punts of 50+ yards and dropped six inside the 20.
- Stout also converted a career-high-tying three field goal attempts against the Illini.
- Against Indiana, Stout averaged 46.3 yards on six punts. He hit 51- and 50- yard punts and landed four inside the 20, including one inside the 10.
- Stout also hit a 50-yard field goal against the Hoosiers, as he earned Big Ten Co-Special Teams Player of the Week.
- Against Auburn, Stout averaged 50.0 yards per punt with two over 50 yards and one downed inside the 20.
- In the Ball State win, Stout hit three field goals against the Cardinals, inducing a 45-yarder.
- Stout earned Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career after averaging 53.9 yards on seven punt attempts against Wisconsin. Stout hit five punts of 50-plus yards, including a 76-yarder.
- The 53.9 punt average ranks second-best in a game at Penn State behind only Ralph Giacomarro (54.75; 1981 at Syracuse), while the 76-yard punt is the longest of Stout's career and tied for third-longest in program history.
