Hord Named to U.S. Women's College National Team

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State women's volleyball star Kaitlyn Hord has been selected to train in Anaheim, California, on June 13-18 as part of the 2021 USA Volleyball Women's Collegiate National Team.

Players on the Collegiate National Team, selected by the U.S. Women's National Team staff and National Team Development Program (NTDP), will work with top volleyball coaches at USAV's Anaheim training center. Athletes will receive evaluation, feedback and individual development plans.

"The group that we have coming is one of the finest concentrations of volleyball talent in the world at this age level," said Collegiate National Team Head Coach Chris McGown of Gold Medal Squared. "I'm joined by an equally talented group in our coaching staff, and we're excited to get to work with these athletes as we refine their already remarkable skills, and further integrate them into the USA Volleyball systems. I'm fortunate to be a part of the journey with these future stars of our Women's National Team."

Hord, one of the best middle blockers in the country, earned All-America honors in each of her first three seasons at Penn State. After picking up honorable-mention recognition as a freshman, she was a first-team selection as a sophomore and a third-team pick as a junior this past season.

Through three seasons, Hord is hitting .417 with 677 kills while adding 357 total blocks. She made an immediate impact as a freshman but her past two seasons have been especially impressive. She hit .433 while averaging 2.58 kills/set and 1.29 blocks/set as a sophomore and a junior.
