Patrick Sheehan Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's golf junior Patrick Sheehan has been named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week after securing his second-straight top-five finish at Duke's Rod Myers Invitational over the weekend, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

Sheehan carded a career-low 207 (9-under) to finish tied for third place at the Rod Myers Invitational. He carded a bogey-free first round as he fired four birdies and finished at 4-under, 68. The Doylestown, Pa. native had four birdies and an eagle in the second round to once again shoot 4-under, 68, and finish the day at 8-under, before firing a 1-under, 71, in Sunday's final round.

Sheehan has now placed in the top five of both of this season's tournaments after finishing tied for fifth at the season-opening Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate. He holds a 69.67 stroke average through the first two fall tournaments of 2021.

Sheehan and the Nittany Lions return to action on Sept. 27-28 when Penn State heads to Wake Forest's Old Town Club Collegiate.
