Men's Lacrosse Hosts No. 5 Yale Saturday at Panzer Stadium

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State men's lacrosse is back at Panzer Stadium on Saturday when it hosts No. 5 Yale for Military Appreciation Day at noon. All tickets will be sold at the gate. Tickers are $5 for anyone with a military ID.

The Nittany Lions are 1-3 on the season following a loss to Saint Joseph's, while Yale is 1-0 with a win over Villanova.

SERIES HISTORY
• Yale leads 5-1 in the all-time series. Penn State won the first matchup in 1997, but Yale won the next five in 2003, 2013, twice in 2019, and 2020.
• The Lions are 0-2 against the Bulldogs at home. Three of the six games in the series were played at neutral sites.
Jack Kelly has scored six goals in three career games against Yale, scoring twice in all three contests.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
• Yale, the fifth-ranked team in the USILA Coaches Poll, is 1-0 following a 17-14 win over Villanova in its season opener.
• The Bulldogs' win over the Wildcats was their first game played since March 7, 2020. The game against Penn State will be the Bulldogs second time playing the Lions in a span of four games, but more than two years apart.
• Yale was picked as the unanimous favorite to win the Ivy League in the conference's preseason poll.
• Senior defender Chris Fake and junior attackman Matt Brandau were selected as Preseason All-Americans. Brandau finished with five goals and one assist in the win over Villanova.

VS. THE IVY LEAGUE
• Penn State is 54-46-1 against current members of the Ivy League.
• The Lions have played six of the seven teams in the Ivy League. They have never played Brown.
• Penn State is 10-8 against current members of the Ivy League during head coach Jeff Tambroni's time with the team. Under Tambroni, the Lions have a winning record against Cornell, Dartmouth, and Penn.
