Alex Limoges ’21 Inks One-Year, Entry-Level Contract with the NHL's Winnipeg Jets

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, Canada – Former captain Alex Limoges (Winchester, Va.) became the 11th Nittany Lion in program history to put pen to paper on an NHL contract as he signed a one-year, entry-level contract for the 2022-23 season with the Winnipeg Jets the club announced Thursday evening.

Limoges, who had a career-year in the AHL this past season, joins Aarne Talvitie (New Jersey), Peyton Jones (Colorado), Cole Hults (Los Angeles), Evan Barratt (Chicago), Nate Sucese (Arizona), Brandon Biro (Buffalo), Andrew Sturtz (Ottawa), Casey Bailey (Toronto), Eamon McAdam (New York Islanders) and Vince Pedrie (New York Rangers) who also agreed to NHL contracts following their time at Penn State.

The Winchester, Virginia native played the past season with the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League setting a rookie franchise record with 23 goals becoming the first Gulls rookie to lead the team in goals and just the sixth first-year player to reach 40 points. He finished the season with 12 power play tallies, which is also a new franchise record. Ultimately, he helped the Gulls advance to the 2022 Calder Cup Playoffs, falling in overtime in a deciding game 3 against the Ontario Reign in the opening round.

Since signing with San Diego following his senior season in Hockey Valley, Limoges has 35 goals and 29 assists for 64 points in 90 career AHL contests including playoffs.

Limoges set a program record totaling nearly a point per game during his four years in Hockey Valley finishing his career with 125 points in 128 games. His 125 points rank third all-time at Penn State while his 51 goals are tied for the third most all-time and his 74 assists rank fourth all-time.
