Penn State Women's Fencing Take Home Gold Across all Three Weapons at Garret Penn State Open
Successful Day One of Garret Penn State Open for Nittany Lions in the White Building 
 
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Nittany Lion Fencing Team took home gold in all three weapons today in day one of the Garret Penn State Open. The first day of competition was dedicated to the women's events as the men will compete tomorrow beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the White Building.  
 
Samantha Catantan leads the ladies once again in women's foil taking home first place with teammate Arianna Proietti in second place. Clarisse Tan, Grace Seal, Halah Keramane, Ariel Ratsep, and Claire Haas also competed in women's foil. 
 
Kateryna Chorniy also took home gold for Penn State women's epee alongside Jaclyn Khrol with solver. Axelle Wasiak and Jordan Liverant finished in seventh and eighth place. Nirali Igoe, Evelyn Pham, Helen Myers, Kim Jin, Grace Baranosky and Vama Maniar also participated in this event. 
 
Finishing the Penn State sweep of first place across all three weapons was Ola Strzalkowski in the sabre. Those also representing Penn State in women's sabre were Teagan McNally, Amelia Baker, Mia Novick, Steph Jen and Alexa Horan.
