Game Day: 2022 Blue-White Game Set for Saturday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The 2022 Blue-White Game presented by Highmark will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 23. Big Ten Network will carry the event live with Rick Pizzo (play-by-play), Matt Millen (color analyst) and Matt McGloin (sideline reporter) calling the action.
 
Parking lots will open at 9 a.m. Admission to the Blue-White Game is free. Fans will enter through gates A & B, which will open at 12:30 p.m.
 
Blue-White Boardwalk Fan Fest
The Blue-White Boardwalk Fan Fest, the official Penn State football game day fan festival, includes carnival games, free carnival rides, such as a ferris wheel and giant slide, a photo booth, face painting, balloon twister, caricature artist and food. The Blue-White Boardwalk opens at 9 a.m. runs until 2 p.m. and will be located on Curtin Road in front of Beaver Stadium. Carnival games will only accept cash, food vendors accept both cash and credit card. The 2022 Football Spring Schedule Poster will be handed out pregame at the marketing table in the Blue White Boardwalk, while supplies last.
 
Parking
All parking passes, regular vehicle and RV, for the Blue-White Game will be mobile. Mobile parking passes were added to accounts for 2022 season parking pass holders who renewed by February 18 renewal deadline. Mobile parking passes are transferable to other fans. Please note, the lot numbers listed on mobile parking passes are simply placeholder numbers and are not the prescribed lot for the pass holder to park in as parking is general admission and first come, first served.
 
Normal game day traffic patterns are not in effect for the Blue-White Game. Parking will be general admission in select lots near Beaver Stadium and will be systematically filled. Parking lots for the Blue-White Game can be accessed here. There is ADA parking reserved in Lots 18, 41 and 31.
 
Fans attending the Blue-White Game without a mobile parking pass will be charged $20 per regular vehicle on the day of the event, or can purchase regular vehicle parking passes online at https://am.ticketmaster.com/pennstate/bluewhiteparking. Credit cards and cash will be accepted. RV parking passes will not be sold in advance.
 
RV parking is restricted to the overnight RV lot. Passes for the RV lot will only be distributed to those who have a 2022 season RV pass. If season RV pass holders arrive with a Blue-White pass on Friday, they will only owe $40 with complimentary access on Saturday. Those without the RV pass will owe $60 upon arrival on Saturday and $100 if they arrive on Friday and stay for two nights.
 
Mobile parking passes will only be used for the 2022 Blue-White Game. Mobile parking will not be available for the regular season as visible parking permits are required for traffic flow to assigned lots.
 
Game Format and Scoring

  • This year's Blue-White Game will be a scrimmage format, offense vs. defense. The offense will wear white, while the defense will wear blue.
  • Quarterbacks will wear light blue.
  • The scrimmage will be broken up into eight total segments.
  • Scoring for the scrimmage will be as follows: 
    • Defense
      • 7 points for defensive touchdown
      • 2 points for a safety
      • 3 points for a fumble recovery
      • 3 points for an interception
      • 2 points for a 3 & out
      • 2 points for a sack
      • 1 point for forcing a punt
    • Offense
      • 6 points for a touchdown
      • 1 point for an extra point
      • 3 points for a field goal

 
The Blue-White Game is Penn State University's unofficial annual spring reunion. In 2019, an estimated 61,000 fans were in attendance. The Blue-White Game has drawn more than 60,000 fans in seven of the last eight years, which included crowds of 70,000 or more in four of the last six years.
