Wall, MacEachern Earn B1G Hockey Preseason Accolades

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Penn State men's ice hockey team landed a pair on seniors on the Preseason All-Big Ten teams as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning. Kevin Wall (Penfield, N.Y.) was named to the second team after earning honorable mention accolades to end the 2021-22 season, while Connor MacEachern (Brooklin, Ontario) earned honorable mention plaudits.

The honors come for the pair following career-best seasons for both skaters as juniors last season.

Wall skated in all 38 games for Penn State in 2021-22, setting career highs in every offensive category, including a team-best 16 goals and 29 points. His 16 goals last season tied for the ninth-most in a single season in Penn State history while he ranked fifth in the Big Ten and 26th nationally. His 29 points were tied for the ninth-most in the conference.

MacEachern skated in 36 games last season for Penn State and also set career highs in every offensive category, including 14 goals and 29 points. MacEachern led the team with six powerplay tallies, tying a Nittany Lion single-season record, while also tying for the team lead with three game-winning goals.

The Big Ten coaches also voted for the 2022-23 preseason poll where reigning regular-season champion, Minnesota was once again picked to finish first while the Nittany Lions are slotted sixth.
