Victor Baganha:
At the men's Big Ten Championships in February, Baganha touched fourth overall and registered an NCAA B-Cut for the 100 fly at 45.48. Following, the sophomore took to the lanes and the Penn State records for the 100 free, finishing at 42.75 in the preliminary rounds. That race alone added his name to the 100 free all-time top times list for the program, where he now stands with the third fastest time in program history. Later in the 100 free finals, he swam in the A-final at 42.91 for seventh overall to qualify for another NCAA B-Cut this championship and another top times record, now as well holding the fifth fastest time in program history for the 100 free.

Baganha found success throughout this past season, beginning at the Brazilian World Championship Trials in September, where he advanced to the A Final for the 50 free (tied 5th, 21.51) and the 100 fly (7th, 51.03). Later, he also earned a B Final appearance for the 100 free (47.67).

Back at McCoy Natatorium and in the regular season, he earned multiple podium finishes for these events. To start came a slew of gold touches in the 50 free (20.00) and 100 fly (47.64) at Annapolis, followed by a 50 free (20.03) win at Pittsburgh and at home at 47.12. Baganha also took the 100 free (43.08) and the 50 free (19.70) at home to kick off the new year, and later closed the regular season at home with a first place finish in the 10 free at 44.37.

NCAA Championship History:
At the 2022 NCAA Championships, Baganha competed in these same events for the Nittany Lions during his freshman season.
