UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State men's gymnastics has seven College Gymnastics Association (CGA) Regular-Season All-Americans. Matt Cormier, Josh Karnes, Michael Jaroh and Ian Raubal earn the accolade after ranking in the top eight on Road to Nationals for specific events.
Junior captain Cormier is ranked third on floor exercise, fifth on vault and fourth in the all-around. Sophomore Karnes is third on parallel bars and second all-around. Junior Jaroh is eighth on parallel bars and freshman Raubal lands eighth on still rings.
Matt Cormier
Cormier earned a career high this season on floor with a 14.650 at the West Point Open and has placed first on three occasions. His 14.850 on vault against Michigan was another personal best for the captain. He owns three event titles on vault and two in the all-around this season with a high score of 81.950 at the West Point Open. Cormier has earned Big Ten Gymnast of the Week three times.
Josh Karnes
Karnes has had major performances on parallel bars this season with five event titles and six scores above 14.000 out of seven outings. His personal best is 14.700, achieved against Michigan this season. The U.S. Senior National Team member also recorded one of the highest all-around scores in the country at the tri-meet with Ohio State and Oklahoma. Both times he has competed in the all-around he has taken first. Karnes was the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week twice this winter.
Michael Jaroh
Jaroh earned his career high on parallel bars this year at the West Point Open with a 14.200. He has secured two first-place finishes and two second-place ranks with four scores of 14.000 or above this season.
Ian Raubal
Raubal owns the highest still rings score of the Nittany Lions this season with a 14.500 at the West Point Open. He has two event titles and two second-place finishes with four scores above 14.000. Raubal was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week twice this season, both times after high rings scores.
