Connor MacEachern Inks ATO with AHL’s San Jose Barracuda

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Senior Connor MacEachern (Brooklin, Ontario) signed an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the San Jose Barracuda for the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign as announced by the club on Monday evening. The Barracuda are the AHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks.

"Kecks is a great competitor and a player at both ends the rink. He is a great leader, and just a great guy to be around and we've absolutely loved having him as part of this program for four years," mentioned head coach Guy Gadowsky. "Kecks will always be part of the Penn State Hockey family and we wish him the very best with the San Jose Sharks organization."

MacEachern made his professional debut a few hours later donning No. 68 and skating on the third line for the Barracuda during a 4-3 shootout loss to the Coachella Valley Firebirds on Monday night. He registered a single shot on goal and was even for the game.

The Brooklin, Ontario native served as an alternate captain this past season earning All-Big Ten honorable mention honors. MacEachern finished the year with 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points ranking second on the team in goals and assists and third in points.

MacEachern had a career-high 14 goals and 28 points as a junior in 2021-22 and finishes his Penn State career with 77 points on 31 goals and 46 assists in 130 games played.

"The coaching staff, our fans, and of course my teammates have been what made this journey unforgettable, and I have memories that will last a lifetime.
