Men's Lacrosse Captures Six USILA All-Americans

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's lacrosse team captured six United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American honors as announced by the association on Thursday.
 
Jack Fracyon secured a Second-Team All-America nod following being named an USA Lacrosse Magazine Second-Team All-American and Inside Lacrosse Second-Team All-American, Big Ten Specialist of the Year, and named to the All-Big Ten First Team. Fracyon led the Big Ten in goals against average and save percentage in the regular season allowing just 10.03 goals per game and saved 58.2 shots fired at him. He also led the Big Ten is saves per game stopping 13.83 shots per game.
 
He was named Big Ten Specialist of the Week once this season as well as USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Player of the Week on March 14. Tallied recorded a career-high 18 saves against Lafayette in the first game of the season. He started in every game this season recording a record of 11-4 which is a career-high in wins in a season. 
 
Matt Traynor was named to a Third-Team All-America selection. During the regular season he tallied 27 goals and seven assists for 34 points. He sits second on the team in man-up goals with five while being tied for second on the team in goals as well. Traynor has recorded two five goal games while tallying eight multi-goal games. He set career-highs in season goals, points, assists, multi-goal games, ground balls, and caused turnovers in a season.
 
TJ Malone also captured an Third-Team All-American nod as he was who also an Inside Lacrosse All-American and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American earlier in the year. He led the Big Ten in points with a career-high 54 off 26 goals and 28 assists. Overall, Malone has recorded 33 goals with 32 assists for 65 points. In the NCAA tournament alone, Malone has racked up six goals and four assists for 10 points.
 
The graduate student captured one Big Ten weekly award this season with his eight-point outing against sixth-ranked Johns Hopkins with four goals and four assists. This season alone, Malone has ranked up seven five points plus games and nine multi-goal games. He led the Nittany Lions during the regular season in points, assists and was tied for first in game-winning goals and second in ground ball pickups.
 
The West Chester, Pa. native was named a 2023 Tewaaraton Award Top 25 nominee earlier this season as this is the first time in his career, he has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year as well as a First Team All-Big Ten selection.
 
Jack Posey, Grant Haus and Kevin Winkoff were also honorable mention selections as Posey was also named to the All-Big Ten Second Team as he was the Nittany Lions top defenseman during the regular season. He finished out the regular season with nine caused turnovers which is tied for a career-high and has scooped a career-high 24 ground balls. During the season he was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week once for his play against Penn. This is the first time in his career he's been named an All-American Honorable Mention.

Haus sealed also sealed an All-Big Ten Second Team selection. Haus has tallied two goals while forcing a career-high nine turnovers and scooped a career-high 28 ground balls. He forced multiple turnovers in three games this season including three against Ohio State.
 
Winkoff captures his first All-American recognition this season with an Honorable Mention nod after tallying 13 goals alongside 36 assists for 66 points in total this season. The graduate-student has captured eight multi-goal games which includes a five-goal outing against Penn on March 4. He has led the charge on game-winning goals as he has recorded three on the year.

Penn State returns to action on Saturday, May 27 when they face Duke in the semifinal round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Game-time is set for noon.
