ANTWERP, Belgium – Penn State men's gymnastics had four representatives, three current athletes and one former athlete, compete at the World Championships at the Antwerp Sportpaleis in Belgium on Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1.
"Valiant effort by our guys on the world stage," said head coach Randy Jepson. "It was great to have them out there and our guys performed to the best of their abilities. It's great to have Penn State represented on the world stage. It was great preparation for our current guys for the upcoming season."
Andres Perez Gines, a 2021 Penn State graduate representing Puerto Rico, collected a 75.431 in all-around. He tallied a 13.366 on floor, 13.300 on vault, 13.000 on high bars, 12.633 on rings, 12.366 on parallel bars and 10.766 on pommel horse.
Senior Ethan Dick, competing for New Zealand, tallied a 75.132 in all-around. He earned a 13.833 on vault, 12.933 on floor, 12.833 on high bar, 12.233 on rings, 11.900 on parallel bars and 11.400 on pommel horse.
Poland's Kacper Garnczarek, a sophomore at Penn State, recorded a 74.164 in all-around. He placed 60th on vault with a 14.100. He registered a 12.833 on high bar, 12.166 on rings, 11.866 on parallel bars, 11.766 on pommel horse and 11.433 on floor.
Freshman Arkseli Karsikas, representing Finland, competed on floor.
