National Golf Invitational Day 2 Results
MARICOPA, Ariz. – James Allen is in the top 10 to pace the Penn State men's golf team as the second round of the inaugural National Golf Invitational concluded Saturday afternoon at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.
The Nittany Lions shot a 6-over, 294, in Saturday's second round and sit tied for sixth in the 13-team field at 1-under, 575, heading into Sunday's third and final round. Texas State leads the way at 11-under, 565.
Allen is tied for ninth place to lead Penn State. He fired an even 72 Saturday and sits at 3-under, 141, heading into Sunday's final round.
Seniors Jimmy Meyers and Patrick Sheehan follow as both are tied for 19th at an even 144. Meyers shot an even 72 Saturday, while Sheehan carded a 3-over, 75.
Freshman Billy Pabst Jr. shot a 6-over, 78, Saturday and is tied for 49th at 5-over, 149. Sophomore Morgan Lofland carded a 3-over, 75, in the second round and is in 63rd place at 11-over, 155.
The third and final round of the National Golf Invitational is set for Sunday. Live scoring will continue to be available on GolfStat.
