PARKER, Colo. – Penn State men's golf student-athlete Patrick Sheehan is set to compete in the U.S. Amateur Championship this week for the third-straight year after qualifying in mid-July.
 
The 123rd U.S. Amateur Championship, scheduled for Aug. 14-20, will be played at the Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, Colo. and the Colorado Golf Club in Parker, Colo. Sheehan is set to tee off Monday at 1:14 p.m. from the Colorado Golf Club.
 
Sheehan earned his third-straight trip to the U.S. Amateur following a July 17 qualifier at the Union League Golf Club at Torresdale in Philadelphia.
 
Sheehan enters his fifth season at Penn State in 2023-24. He is coming off a strong senior season in which he led the Nittany Lions in stroke average for the second-straight year. The Doylestown, Pa. native played in 11 events and collected three top-10 finishes and one top-five placement. He is a two-time GCAA All-Region and three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
