No. 19 Women's Lacrosse Heads to Ohio State for Big Ten Matchup

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State heads back on the road to face Ohio State Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m. on the Big Ten Network at the Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.

Nittany Lions vs. Buckeyes
The Nittany Lions lead the all-time series against the Buckeye, 22-9. Penn State won their most recent meeting in 2023, 13-3. Gretchen Gilmore and Kristin O'Neill led the way, both recording a hat trick, each respectively scoring four and three goals.
 
Scouting the Buckeyes
The Buckeyes have a record of 6-4 on the season under head coach Amanda Moore. Ohio State has scored 131 goals this season out of 283 shots, with senior Jamie Lasda leading the way with 30 goals.

O'Neill recorded the game winning over time goal, with six goals on the night to notch 150 goals in her career and lead Penn State to its fourth straight win in a 14-13 overtime victory against No. 1 Northwestern, their first win against a No. 1 ranked team since 2005. 

O'Neill was named the IWLCA and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and goalkeeper Sydney Manning was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for their performances against Northwestern.
 
Preseason Nods
Penn State was ranked No. 14 in the USA Lacrosse preseason poll and No. 18 in the IWLCA preseason poll. In the Big Ten, the Nittany Lions were picked to finish seventh. 
 
Senior captain Kristin O'Neill was named a USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American third team and was an Inside Lacrosse Returning Player to Watch. She was also named a Big Ten Player to Watch along with junior Ellie Hollin and senior Sammy Dupcak
 
Most recently O'Neill was named to the prestigious Tawaaraton Watch List for the third consecutive season.

The Nittany Lions' return 29-of-33 players from their 2023 roster, including 12 players who appeared in every game last season. The 39-player roster features nine freshmen, eight sophomores, eight juniors, nine seniors and five graduate students.
