No. 16 Women’s Lacrosse to Host Ohio State in Big Ten Quarterfinals

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – No. 16 Penn State women's lacrosse will match up against Ohio State as the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals Saturday, April 27 at Panzer Stadium. First draw is set for noon.

Parking 
Baseball, Softball and Lacrosse Parking

  • Parking for baseball, softball and men's and women's lacrosse is available in campus decks. 
  • Fans are encouraged to prepay for athletics event parking at a discounted rate of $5.50 through the ParkMobile app, or by clicking here. Prepayment is available through 11:59 p.m. the day before each event. 
  • Day of Event parking is in the on-campus parking decks (HUB, East, Eisenhower, Nittany, and West) for $40. Eisenhower Deck parking will be cash only and due upon entry, while parking at the East, HUB, Nittany and West decks will be payable by credit card upon exiting at pay-on-foot machines inside each deck.

Nittany Lions vs. Buckeyes
Penn State dropped their regular season game at Ohio State, 9-8, nearly one month ago. Meghan Murray, Lauren Saltz, Emma Kelly and Gretchen Gilmore all contributed to the scoring efforts in the game with two each. 
 
The Nittany Lions are 22-10-0 all-time against the Buckeyes. The last time the two teams met in the Big Ten Tournament was in 2015, where Penn State defeated Ohio State, 13-11, to win the inaugural Big Ten Tournament title. 
 
Scouting the Buckeyes
Ohio State is 8-8 overall and 1-5 in conference, with their lone Big Ten victory over Penn State. 
 
Junior Brynn Ammerman leads the Buckeyes and is 10th in the Big Ten in points with 47. The attacker has 19 goals and 28 assists on the season. 
 
On the defensive side, goalie Regan Alexander leads the team with 19 caused turnovers. Alexander has 146 saves and scooped up 43 ground balls on the season. 
 
The last time the Buckeyes won a game in the Big Ten Tournament was in 2015 after they beat Rutgers and Northwestern to move on the championship game. 
 
Last Time Out
Penn State upset then-No. 11 Johns Hopkins 16-13 in their regular season finale at Panzer Stadium to earn the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament, the Nittany Lions highest seeding in the tournament since 2017. 
 
Gilmore collected a hat trick and three assists to earn her 100th career point in the game and to lead the offense for Penn State in the game. The senior earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for her performance. 
 
Kelly MacKinney joined her teammate in receiving conference weekly accolades. The attacker earned Freshman of the Week after scoring two goals against the Blue Jays.
 
Kayla Abernathy and Saltz also registered hat tricks in the game. 
 
Goalkeeper Sydney Manning was clutch in the game, coming up with 12 saves in the 60 minutes. 
 
The Big Ten announced season conference awards ahead of the tournament. Five Nittany Lions landed on the All-Conference teams. Kristin O'Neill and Ellie Hollin earned first team honors, while Sammy Dupcak, Abernathy and Gilmore claimed second team honors.
