UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's tennis team dropped their match against Delaware, 4-2.
DOUBLES
Yvonne Zuffova and Sofiya Chekhlystova partnered together at No. 2. The pair won 6-4 against Julieta Honrubia and Maryia Hrynashka.
On court No. 1, duo Karly Friedland and Olivia Dorner played tough against Eliza Askarova and Alex Stauculescu, but ultimately fell 7-5. At the No. 3 spot, Jordina Cegarra and Alina Lebedeva played against Slade Coetzee and Paulina Jurkowska. The Blue and White dropped its match, 7-5.
SINGLES
On court No. 2, Chekhlystova played a strong match against Askarova, winning 6-4, 6-3.
Cegarra played at the No. 4 spot, winning her battle of a match, 4-6, 7-6(6), 6-1, against Hrynaska.
At the No.1 spot, Dorner took on Coetzee, but dropped her match 6-3, 6-0. At No. 3, Zuffova played against Alina Vasilenko. The match went into a third set, but ultimately, Zuffova fell, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1. Playing at No. 5, Friedland faced Stauculescu, falling 6-4, 6-2. Lebedeva played on court No. 6, winning her first set 6-3 against Honrubia, but her match was stopped after Delaware clinched the match point.
