WEST POINT, N.Y. - Penn State men's gymnastics closed out the 2025 West Point Open with three individual event titles and seven additional top three finishes on Saturday evening. Michael Jaroh led the Nittany Lions with three podium finishes, including earning the top-spot on parallel bars with a score of 13.550.
“It was a really great weekend,” said associate head coach Tony Beck. “To have so many guys podium was really special, and we only missed one hit all evening. This weekend was a great way to start off our season, and we are looking forward to getting back to action next week back at home in Rec Hall.”
Jaroh also finished tied for third in the pommel horse finals with a 13.300, and posted an exhibition vault at 14.000, which would have tied him for second in the event with teammate Kellen Ryan, who also exhibitioned on vault.
Matt Underhill grabbed the top-spot on the rings for the second night, following up Friday’s 13.700 with a 13.650. The junior also finished third overall in floor with at 13.350 routine. He stood next to Michael Artlip on the podium, who won the event with a 13.800.
Akseli Karsikas finished second in the rings behind Underhill with a 13.150. The sophomore also tied for fourth in floor with a 13.300.
Kacper Garnczarek rounded out the weekend for the Nittany Lions with a third-place finish in the high bar on a 13.100 score.

The Nittany Lions return home to open head-to-head competition next weekend when they host Army on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. in Rec Hall.
