PARKING
Parking for Penn State women's ice hockey games at Pegula Ice Arena will be available at the following locations beginning two hours prior to the start of each game:
- Wagner Shields will not be available on Friday and Saturday but will be available should there be a game on Sunday.
- Those with the Community Visitor pass will need to park in the Orange Lots. Those that do not prepay will need to park in the East Deck.
- Stadium, West, Jordan East, Porter North
- No charge with a valid Penn State parking pass
- $5.50 prepaid through ParkMobile (season package available for $5 per game): ParkMobile Link
- $10 day-of-event without a valid permit or prepayment (pay station or ParkMobile app – zone no. 95112)
- ParkMobile prepayment availability ends at 11:59 p.m. the night before each event. Events will not be selectable on the site after that time, and payment must then be made on site upon arrival to event parking staff (cash only).
HISTORY
- Penn State currently leads the series 39-17-7.
- The Nittany Lions swept the four-game regular season series against the Tigers, including at the end of the regular season when the Blue and White took both games in Rochester, N.Y.
- In CHA/AHA Tournament competition, the Nittany Lions own a slight 6-5 edge over the Tigers. The teams met most recently in postseason play in last season’s CHA Semifinals where Penn State swept the series in Happy Valley.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
- RIT enters the semifinal round with a 16-15-4 overall record and an 8-10-2 record in AHA play.
- The Tigers shut out Lindenwood 4-0 in the AHA Quarterfinals on Saturday, Feb. 22.
- Addie Alvarez paces the attack with a team-leading 32 points on six goals and 26 assists.
- RIT has three double digit goal scorers in Emma Pickering (11), Kylie Aquaro (10) and Kailey Favro (10).
- Sarah Coe stands between the pipes for the Tigers with an 11-11-2 record, 2.26 GAA and .925 save percentage.
CHA/AHA TOURNAMENT HISTORY
- Penn State is seeking its third straight AHA Tournament championship.
- The Nittany Lions swept RIT in the semifinals before topping Mercyhurst 1-0 in the CHA Championship a season ago. Katie Desa collected MVP honors for her shutout performance.
- The Blue and White took down Mercyhurst in the 2023 CHA Championship for the program’s first ever conference championship.
- Tessa Janecke tops the all-time Penn State CHA Tournament scoring list with eight points off four goals and four assists over the past two tournaments.
REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS
- For the third straight year, the Nittany Lions became AHA Regular Season champions following their 4-3 overtime win against Mercyhurst on Feb. 7.
- It's the fourth Regular Season Championship for the women's ice hockey program and all under the direction of head coach Jeff Kampersal.
A SEASON FOR THE HISTORY BOOKS
- With a weekend sweep over RIT on Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15, Penn State set a new AHA single-season conference win record with 19.
- The 2-1 overtime triumph on Saturday gave the Nittany Lions 28 victories, a new single-season program record.
- Janecke cemented herself as one of the best ever when she became the program leader (men’s and women’s) in career points following a 4-0 shutout win over Lindenwood on Jan. 25. She currently has 148 points on 60 goals and 88 assists.
- Lyndie Lobdell tallied an assist against Robert Morris on Jan. 31, making her the all-time points leader among defensemen at Penn State. Currently, she has 83 points in her career on 20 goals and 63 assists.
- Desa became the first goaltender in program history to be named a semifinalist for the HCA Goalie of the Year award. The junior compiled an impressive 24-5 record during the regular season, just three wins away from the program’s single season record.
EIGHT NITTANY LIONS RECEIVE ALL-AHA HONORS
- Forwards Janecke and Katelyn Roberts, defenseman Kendall Butze and goaltender Desa earned All-AHA First Team honors. The four first team selections match a program best set in 2020-21.
- Forward Maddy Christian and defenseman Lobdell were named to the All-AHA Second Team.
- Grace Outwater, a forward, and Grace Tullock, a defenseman, received AHA All-Rookie Team recognition.
