Men’s and women’s track teams record four top-10 program marks

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Penn State men’s and women’s track and field teams added four more top-10 marks in program history on the final day of a strong showing at the 129th-annual Penn Relays Saturday.  

TOP PERFORMANCES  

The men’s 4x800 championship team of Darius Smallwood, Allon Clay, Olivier Desmeules and Handal Roban completed the race with a fourth-place finish at 7:15.11 to take the No. 6 spot in program history.   

The women’s 4x1500 squad of Kileigh Kane, Florence Caron, Ada Rand and Maddie Ullom  finished the race in fourth place in 17:13.14.  

Gabriella Recce recorded a 4.11m (13-5 ¾) mark in women's pole vault after tying for fifth place overall. Recce's mark ties Meredith Baham, who recorded the mark on April 25 at the Penn Relays, for No. 6 all-time. 

Isaac Osifo collected the fourth-best high jump in program history with a 2.20m (7-2 ½) leap. The mark ties Osifo with Ryan Fritz (2007) for No. 4 all-time in Penn State history.  

Dylan Lambrecht enters the top-10 all-time list for men's shot put after recording a 18.83m (61-9 ½) throw after finishing in third place.

  • Smallwood, Clay, Desmeules and Roban finished in fourth place at 7:15.11 to place No. 6 on the all-time program list

FIELD EVENT SUMMARY   

Women’s High Jump Championships 

  • Hannah Riolo recorded a 1.70m (5-7) jump to tie for third 
  • Gwen Cudmore recorded a 1.65m (5-5) jump  

Women’s Javelin Throw Championships 

Women’s Pole Vault Championships  

  • Recce tied for fifth place with a 4.11m (13-5 ¾) mark to tie for No. 6 all-time  

Men’s High Jump Championships 

  • Osifo tied for the No. 4 spot with Ryan Fritz (2007) on the all-time list after recording a 2.20m (7-2 ½) jump   

Men’s Triple Jump Championships  

Men’s Pole Vault Championships 

Men’s Shot Put Championships  

  • Lambrecht placed third with an 18.83m (61-9 ½) throw to claim the No. 10 spot on the all-time list
